I Heart My Car...
I'm gonna have to start keeping my car cleaner. People keep stopping me in parking lots to look at it and ask questions. Is it comfortable? As long as you don't expect a grown up to sit in the back seat. Can you haul stuff? A lot more than you'd think. How's it handle? Remember when you were a kid and would go drive go-carts..that thrill you felt when you took a curve too fast? Yeah, it feels like that. And the biggest question..How does it do on gas? 35-40 on the highway, depending on how fast I'm driving but usually I'm driving too fast.
I used to go weeks before I'd see another Mini Cooper but now I see one almost every day. I don't like that..not one little bit. It used to be, if you drove a car like mine, it made you kind of unique. As a matter of fact, when I first got my car, everybody said it was me. Squat, wide, low to the ground and able to handle gas really well.
Now that gas prices have gone up so high everybody's buying them up. The new people don't seem to feel the same spirit of the car that those of us who bought them originally do. I drive by another Mini Cooper and wave (that used to be the norm..and pretty embarrassing if you didn't happen to be driving your own car.), these people look at you like your crazy. I bet they never take it up to the mountains and give it a treat, scaring the crap out of their companions on those windy hilly roads. I bet they don't give it a name and slap hula girls onto their dash boards. Yeah..they don't get it.
I'm gonna have to stop recommending it. Pretty soon, there won't be anything unique about it at all and I might as well be driving a Corolla. Not that there's anything wrong with a Corolla but they aren't a Mini Cooper are they?! I'll tell them they should look into getting a beetle, I hear they're pretty good on gas. Let them go screw up the spirit of those cars and leave my poor car alone.
