Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Aren't they the cutest things ever?! Well, both Nathan and the egg! :) I was wondering just the other day if you had any eggs yet. Congratulations! ;)
It was..we did a scrambled taste test with a store bought, much more flavor..but I gotta tell you, it was kinda hard for me to take that first bite knowing that egg came out of one of my pets ass. However, I had to set a good example (If I didn't eat it..nobody in the house would.) and do it none the less.
cool. my CSA farm has some araucanas among other types of chicken. I can always tell the eggs - a bit smaller and either pale blue or pale green. very pretty.
I've heard (from people who know this shit firsthand) that if your hens eat a lot of grasshoppers and worms and critters, it makes the eggs taste a bit raunchy...
I'm so sorry about Cleo. I hope that Nathan didn't take it too hard. ;(
I'm reallly tickled about the first egg! Too bad that I don't live closer because I'd buy a doz from you every week. Now that you have fancy eggs you'll have to blow some out and make your very own *colored* Easter Egg tree decoration.
First of all......I wanted to check in with you and make sure that you didn't blow away. I'm watching the weather map and it shows that you have been getting sand blasted the last couple of days. Hopefully the worst is over now.
Oh, and I also was wondering if you kept a roaster so you could get peeps. I doubt that your neighborhood has wild *roosters/kitties* that could get the job done. (do you think there are *rent-a-roosters*??)
Hey Denise! Thanks for thinking of us..we're fine, the garage is flooded but considering the damage other people around here have gotten, that's not so bad (plus, none of my stuff is in the garage.).
Nope, no rooster...I didn't think the neighborhood would appreciate that. I do have the chicken bug though (which is different for the avian flu) and have already been talking to DeWitte about a bigger coop=more kitties! You should get some, they're a ton of fun, best pet I ever had, they earn their keep (well, one of them does, maybe two, so far.)
